Using Sieve.
Open it.
Sieve looks for your Lightroom Classic catalog and shows it. Click it once. A folder of originals works instead. macOS may ask for folder access; Sieve only reads.
Let it learn.
It reads your stars and studies your frames, about 14 minutes per thousand, with a progress bar. Leave it. Rate frames while it works if you like. When it is ready, it says so and Learn lights up. Press it.
Pick a new set.
New lists the sets that arrived since last time. Press Pick on one. Its picks appear in Sieve and, with the plug-in, each pick is flagged in Lightroom Classic, on the photo you imported. A frame you have already flagged or rejected yourself is left as it is.
Rate.
1 to 5 set stars, 0 clears them. Z picks, X rejects, U removes the pick or reject, Backspace undoes. With the plug-in, every mark reaches Classic in about a second. Sieve never sets a star for you; a pick is a proposal.
Learn again.
Press Learn whenever you have rated more. Sieve keeps the new model only if it beats the old one and tells you which it kept. “Kept the previous model” is a normal answer, not a failure.
The plug-in.
In Lightroom Classic: File, Plug-in Manager, Add, then choose the folder Sieve shows you in Setup. Leave it enabled. Sieve has to be open for it to work.
What Sieve touches.
Nothing in your catalog and nothing in a photograph. Its renders, notes and models live in its own folder. If you turn on sidecar writing in Setup, a star goes to an .xmp file beside the original, and nowhere else.
What leaves your Mac
Sieve downloads missing vision model files from Hugging Face, then loads them from its local cache without contacting Hugging Face. Once a day, Sieve asks GitHub for the latest release version. Those requests include connection information such as your IP address; Sieve sends no photographs, ratings, account, or install identifier. No other app data is sent.

If something is wrong.
Nothing under New: only sets that arrived since the last run are listed; any set opens from Library. Marks not reaching Classic: check the plug-in is enabled and Sieve is open. A set says its frames cannot be read: the originals moved or the drive is not mounted; reconnect it or point Sieve at the new place in Setup.
